In Spain this is a starter but this time I cooked it as a side dish. I love cooking it because I love garlic and olive oil.  It is very healthy as you only need 1 tbp of olive oil. Potatoes are part of the carbohydrates you need during the day and green beans have Folic acid and Vitamin C to help your immune system.

Ingredients

  • runner beans
  • potatoes
  • olive oil
  • garlic cloves
  • salt
  • pepper

Preparation

I used my ‘super two floors’ steamer. First floor diced potatoes and second floor runner beans cut into pieces of about 4cm.

They’ll be ready in about 15 minutes but the best thing to do is to check, we dont like potatoes to have the consistency you use for a mash, so they need to be a bit harder. And beans may take another 5 minutes because they are harder🙂

Once they are ready, find a frying pan and put 1 tbs of olive oil. Fry some garlic cloves so they flavour the oil and put the potatoes and the beans, stir fry them for about 5 minutes add some salt and voilà…

A very tasty side dish that this time I served with roasted chicken but you can use it with any meat or itself as a starter.
