I had promised some healthy desserts, so here is my fruit stew. It’s so easy to make and if you use skimmed milk and Splenda instead of whole milk and sugar, then you’ll make it low-calory!

lngredients for 2 people

  • 2 apples
  • 2 pears
  • 2 clementines or oranges
  • 1 tbsp of Custard powder
  • 1/2 pint of skimmed milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp of Splenda

Preparation

Dice the fruits and put them in a saucepan with a bit of water and 1/2 tsp of Splenda, leave it simmering for around 15 minutes.

For the custard you can folow the instructions on the packet but splenda tends to be a lot sweeter than sugar so use 1/2 the amount specified.

I make 1/2 pint of custard this way: in a saucepan put 1 tbsp of custard powder and 1 tsp of Splenda. Warm in the microwave 1/2 pint of skimmed milk. Add to the saucepan only 1 tbsp of that milk (save the rest) and mix it with the rest of the mixture. Once you have a paste add the rest of the warm milk and take the saucepan to boil for a while until it gets thick.

Plate and enjoy it!
